Calais, France's first town
Shopping
in Calais is great fun and it’s easy – long straight streets
and plenty of parking. Look out for La Maison du Fromage and Le Bar à Vins
in the Place d’Armes, plus les 4 Boulevards shopping centre in
the middle of town. And the vast Cité Europe shopping centre is
only a 10-minute drive away. Markets are held every Wednesday and Saturday
morning in the Place d’Armes and on Thursdays and Saturdays in
Place Crêvecoeur.

Lille is a shopper’s paradise...
Lille
was once a bustling merchant city, and it’s kept its reputation
for great shopping. The Euralille centre houses over 100 shops, restaurants
and a hypermarket. Or head into town to the Wazemmes district and bargain
hunt in the bazaars and discount shops on the Rue Gambetta.
