Calais, France's first townShopping in Calais is great fun and it’s easy – long straight streets and plenty of parking. Look out for La Maison du Fromage and Le Bar à Vins in the Place d’Armes, plus les 4 Boulevards shopping centre in the middle of town. And the vast Cité Europe shopping centre is only a 10-minute drive away. Markets are held every Wednesday and Saturday morning in the Place d’Armes and on Thursdays and Saturdays in Place Crêvecoeur.
